		<description>thanks for the comment, Dan. long time no see! preaching to the choir - certainly for b2b and increasingly for consumer marketing, as well. that said, I do think that a dual approach can work, since the web should make it easy to find information and to &lt;b&gt;act&lt;/b&gt; on that information.</description>

You are dead on about casting a wide net and providing non-sales oriented content. Todays buyer, especially in a B2B environment, is looking to gather information at their own pace so they can BUY when they are ready.  They are not trolling for people to SELL to them. Social Media helps to develop the know, like and trust (Duct Tape Marketing) that potential clients need to have in order to be sales prospects.
